Throughout his academic and professional journey, Jim has consistently maintained a focus on health, wellness, and personal growth. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH) and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (Baltimore, MD).
He holds the following licenses and certification:
• Enrolled Agent (U.S. Treasury / Internal Revenue Service)
• CRTP (California Tax Education Council Registered Tax Preparer)
Jim began his career with Weight Watchers International (WW), where he served in multiple roles, including Wellness Coach, Area Trainer, and Territory Manager. In these positions, he helped WW members achieve their weight management goals and later oversaw the operations of WW locations across southern Orange and northern San Diego Counties.
Building on his experience in coaching individuals toward their personal goals, Jim transitioned his focus to financial wellness. As the newest member of the Financial Advisors Network Tax Planning Group, he brings four years of tax preparation and advisory experience from H&R Block. Jim is passionate about meeting clients where they are on their financial journey, tailoring strategies to their unique needs and goals. His mission is to engage, educate, and empower clients to understand and leverage the tax code to their advantage. Ultimately, he aims to help clients confidently answer one of the firm’s key questions: Am I paying as little in taxes as I legally have to?
A former New Yorker, Jim has enjoyed the Southern California lifestyle since 2002. Outside of his work in tax planning, he and his partner embrace the fundamentals of healthy living, which include relaxing naps, evening strolls, home-cooked meals, and spending time with family.
