With over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry, Mike is a well-seasoned and dedicated professional. He started his career as an appraiser in 1990, certified in 1992 and started Gibson and Associates in 1995. Mike's career is built on a foundation of academic excellence / specialized expertise and his firm is foremost in accuracy and service. He brings technical precision and deep market knowledge to Rod Kamps and the Financial Advisors Network team in Tustin. Mike has been performing retrospective appraisals for FAN for over six years.

Mike is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and after moving to Redondo Beach in the early 80's, he continued his education at Long Beach City College and then at Cal State Long Beach. He combines his academic roots with decades of high-level field experience to provide precise and defensible property valuations.

For the last decade Mike has been specializing in green building and energy efficiency. He is proud to be a Certified Green Appraiser, a distinction that allows Mike to provide specialized valuations for energy-efficient homes, solar arrays and sustainable building practices.

Retrospective Appraisals & Litigation Support: Mike specializes in complex retrospective valuations for past dates. These are critical for legal proceedings, including estate settlements, divorce asset division, tax appeals, and insurance claims, where historical accuracy is paramount.

He operates two premier appraisal platforms to serve his clients, one is in San Juan Capistrano which specializes in South Orange County, recognizing the need for reports that reflect the unique market dynamics of this area and his second is based in Mission Viejo, OC Appraisal Pros, which is a comprehensive resource for professional valuation services throughout the region.

Personal Interests

When Mike is not analyzing market data, he is often found on the water serving as a crew member on racing sailboats and his passion for precision extends to his interests in helicopters and the focused skill of knife throwing. He enjoys good food, family, most sports and short vacations to unwind and destress.
